The LCPL Jonathan Collins Memorial Fund and
Foundation was started in 2005 to keep Jon’s memory
and the memory of his sacrifice alive. Its
mission is to support causes and
organizations which reflect Jonathan's
character, commitment and compassion.
In our early years,
the benefactors of our fundraising efforts
were primarily local organizations that were
integral parts of Jon's life. Over
time, we have expanded our scope to support
national programs such as Fallen Heros
Project. Most recently, we have
launched the "A
Message from the HeartSM"
campaign.
Listed below are a few
of the programs that benefit from the LCPL
Jonathan W. Collins Foundation.
A Message
from the HeartSM
In the spirit of providing comfort to
children of deploying Marines and military
personnel,
The LCPL
Jonathan W. Collins Memorial Fund
is proud to present:
A Message
from the HeartSM
.
Children will receive a voice chip
with a message from their deploying parent. The children will put their parent's
voice chip into a bear they make and have the bear for their comfort during
their parent's absence.
HOW
CAN YOU HELP?
DONATE!
$25
WILL PROVIDE ONE CHILD WITH A
COMFORT BEAR
Many of these children's parents have
suffered numerous deployments. Currently there are no programs of
this kind.
Please consider this small gift for the
children of our soldiers and Marines whose sacrifice so often goes
without notice.
A Message from the HeartSM
Comfort Bears allow the deploying parent to
leave a message, from their heart, to their
child, that the child can listen to on their
time, and on their terms, whenever they need
to hear their parent’s voice.
Hundreds of children from
the families of 9th Communications Battalion will attend
the
A Message from the HeartSMFamily Days
where they will create their own
comfort bear!
